I learned the truth at seventeen
That love was meant for beauty queens
And high school girls with clear skinned smiles
Who married young and then retired.
The valentines I never knew
The Friday night charades of youth
Were spent on one more beautiful
At seventeen I learned the truth.
And those of us with ravaged faces
Lacking in the social graces
Desperately remained at home
Inventing lovers on the phone
Who called to say come dance with me
and murmured vague obscenities
It isn't all it seems
At seventeen.

Happy Birthday Nate.

At the risk of sounding like an old codger I will share a little of my experience.

I was on top of the world at age 17. I had a recording contract, a great band and I owned a Vox AC30, two Rics and a Les Paul.

Enjoy your life ahead of you and remember to always stay humble, no matter how many people tell you that you can play just as well as a legendary rock star that you particularly like.

That attitude will take you a long way. Practise, perseverance and talent will take you the rest of the way.

Celebrate and have fun.

Rofl.. you guys are sweet. Honestly I didn't expect such a great reaction.

Joey, I'm gonna give the guitar repairman a printout of your site, if you don't mind. I want him to fix my 4001 correctly.

You'll see the cake later in the week...

Hmmm... i'm not edible, Nate... Image Enjoy your celebration & your cake! (and don't forget 17 won't last forever - make good use of it... a bit sad but true...)
