Could this be a 75th anniversary "project"?
"New" Frying pan guitars?

We know how John likes to drop little "hints"....

I'd rather have a 4001v68 Image

It's just a thought....

A 75th Anniversary frying pan? I'd rather have a 4001 V '68 and I don't even know the first thing about playing bass.

I think you're over-reacting here, Chris.

I met Matt Hill at NAMM and we had a pleasant chat. However, I think there is nothing more to this that John making an effort to insure that the original "Frying Pan"--the world's very first electric guitar--is documented, analyzed and preserved in an appropriate manner.

I'd buy an A-25 if they made one Image

Cool that they mentioned Radiohead among the "great artists" who have used Rickenbackers.

I think it's a cool and significant development. Think about it - this is a company that is starting to gain the attention of academics who see it as a progenitor of something, as something worth "documenting" in a serious way. As someone who was active in the heritage business for a long time, I believe this can only mean good things for the company. It hints that Rickenbacker is slowly starting to edge its way into the country's subconscious psyche, into its identity, into becoming an American staple. Of course this is one solitary Scotsman but still, it definitely says something.

There is no right or wrong.

There is only when.

Kent: John Hall asked that the photo of Adolph Rickenbacker with the Frying Pan, which contains a digital watermark, be removed from this thread.

A partial quote included
Would you be so kind as to remove the photo of Adolph Rickenbacker?

This photo is NOT in the public domain, clearly marked on our website in the legal section as protected under copyright, and contains a digital watermark.

Thanks,

John Hall
Could I please request that formal permission be obtained from RIC before photos are posted from their site. Mr. Hall has already been gracious enough to allow us to use RIC trademarks on this Forum for which I am most grateful.

Mr. Hall, please accept my apology for its appearance here.
Life, as with music, often requires one to let go of the melody and listen to the rhythm
