"New" Frying pan guitars?

We know how John likes to drop little "hints"....

I'd rather have a 4001v68

I think you're over-reacting here, Chris.

I met Matt Hill at NAMM and we had a pleasant chat. However, I think there is nothing more to this that John making an effort to insure that the original "Frying Pan"--the world's very first electric guitar--is documented, analyzed and preserved in an appropriate manner.

I think it's a cool and significant development. Think about it - this is a company that is starting to gain the attention of academics who see it as a progenitor of something, as something worth "documenting" in a serious way. As someone who was active in the heritage business for a long time, I believe this can only mean good things for the company. It hints that Rickenbacker is slowly starting to edge its way into the country's subconscious psyche, into its identity, into becoming an American staple. Of course this is one solitary Scotsman but still, it definitely says something.
