Thinking Of Parting With The CS!
Apologies if this is the wrong area for this. Just fishing for advice or info before I really decide. I'm close though! I must be a glutton for punishment, since you'd think I learned from selling my '69 Burgundyglo 4001, but, this may top it! Of course this is G.A.S. related since I never know what I want from one day to the next. In order to raise some cash, I'm thinking of offering it in trade for a nice V63 FG (only), preferring an older one with the not-too-long TRC, and "some" cash. This is where it gets interesting. I could Ebay her and hope to get $3,800-4,200 like everyone else, but greed isn't my motivation here. I'd love to see someone here end up with it. She's #207 in the run, birthday of August '91. With certificate and silver case of course. The only known flaws are the usual small paint chips next to the bridge and 'shoe surround, which have been touched up, a little wear in the 'shoe chrome on the "E" side, and a small bleed mark on the back of the neck from a stand pad. Plays and sounds phenomenal. I got her from the original owner, who got it right here in town new from DDC Music in early '92. Definitely not a multi-owner world traveller. The bottom line is I really want a V63FG, and I'm afraid to tell you what I want the cash for! Actually, no snickers yet, I have a bead on a '65 Hofner 500/1. Got the Cavern and V62 reissues, but really want a vintage one before they dry up. They're more rare than the Rics at this point. Whatcha all think? Talk me out of it or into it!

it all comes down to what do YOU want ... I sold a 1968 4001 ... http://www.3dentourage.com/425/68-ric-2.htm ... someday I may be sorry ... but right now I am not ...
I thought I was the only one that doesn't know what he wants from one day to the next. LOL
How about a trade for a 4003 monty brown, and a Rogue Beatle bass copy? Huh huh? Just kidding.
If I had a FG V63 I would definitely go for it, plus some cash. IMHO, I would keep the CS, and buy the V63, and 500/1 later.

Buy it before someone else does.
I second Bob's opinion, that is, "keep the CS and buy the V63".
Having both, I appreciate each as they have their own special traits.

Fran i own an original 1964 hofner violin bass, and a 1992 4003.I have played the cavern re-issue and the v62 back to back with mine and there was no real difference.Keep the CS,i have'nt played the violin bass since 1998 when my girlfriend bought me the 4003.If we where in the same country i would go for the swap, knowing i had the better deal. You have an excellent bass with the CS ENJOY IT I WOULD.
Speaking of Chris Squire... I've just found something I did on the Tascam CD-BT1 years ago, when it was brand new!
I was a new player experimenting with the Yessongs CS sound! Hehe!
