I'd like it to be me that stops him, but I just think it's going to go for crazy money.

I think people who say that are comparing them to 4001's with the cap in which used to be the only game in town here for Ric basses for many years. Bad reps die hard.

If I still liked playing 4003's we'd be fighting to the bitter end Dave!

Good luck Dave. First time I see a Blackstar that still has its original (plastic) chrome handrest on.

Actually, there is something to those claims about the sound. My Blackstar is significantly hotter than most of my other Ricks. Brian Crisman noticed that too when he played it at the Columbus confluence. I have never measured the coil resistance but perhaps the Blackstars got a few extra windings? In any event, that is a great looking Blackstar and I hope Dave nails it down. Something tells me that he will!

What do you think the value of the Blackstar is, compared to the Red Neck ???

Ted do you think the shadow has the same "hot" pick ups? That is one of my loudest basses.

As for the capped Ric sound...I never had a problem with 'bottom' using the neck PU on my 4001...

Good luck to those bidding. Depose the Emporer! Image
