I was hoping for the discount rate through the whole time I am staying there but there were only the group rates on the 24-26th. The rates at ESA is actually cheaper with free parking and it is only about a mile away from the DTC.

Whatever you do, don't press the submit button more than once! Jimmy, the RIC product manager for our distributor didn't get a response and apparently pressed it several times when he tried to book last year. When he didn't get a confirmation, he stayed elsewhere. Turns out the hotel held 11 rooms for him that night and hit his credit card accordingly! It took him several months with the assistance of Visa Japan to sort that one out.

I want to hear about any booking problems because I already reamed them over Jimmy's experience and I don't think they'll want to hear it from me more than one more time.

Can it be arranged for the group rate to be spread out on either side of the weekend? Beyond the dates of the 24-26th, its gets rather pricey, at least it does for me.

I called directly to get my booking. No problems there.

Wow, sounds like a once in an era event - I can't be there, but hopefully y'all will post plenty of pictures. I had a blast at the Midwest confluence in Milwaukee; this one will be an order of magnitude bigger -- enjoy!

Would there be any informal jamming? I've always thought it would be neat to get a local rehearsal room and a solid drummer or two, a table full of libations, a few amps and just have a good time.

We need a Ric Bass Orchestra

There were several amps and plenty of jamming last year.

I'll contact them on Monday and find out. However, this is a hotel located in a business area which is to say weekdays are their prime time. Also. it's quite popular with flight attendants . . . so there's plenty of competition for these rooms.

I understand. I figured as much which is why I have tentative reservations at the Extended Stay America at SNA. It is certainly close enough.

There's to be an "Event" at a venue a bit of a distance from the "confluence" hotel Saturday evening? Those interested might need to book a second hotel nearer to that event (when details are released) just for Saturday night-Sunday morning, correct?
