Thanks Bob!, it came out really nice, my friend in America just received it a couple of hours ago and he said it's in great condition, even has new strings, I just can't wait to get it shipped over here.

That bass has six strings and six saddles, but only four keywinds. Crazy. Haha
No, I don't play the sax.

A modern Mike Rutherford style double. That's not bad at all!

It would be cool to splice a 650 and a 4004ci together ... except for me the bass would have 5 strings ...

I think it's a good, if rather expensive idea. The Ci's are a bit lighter than a 4003 in general, aren't they?

Yes. Noticeably. Not sure of the amount but immediately upon picking mine up when it arrived that was my second impression. The first was WOW.

Jeff's idea also occured to me when I got past the awe factor.

The same holds true for a 4000, quite light, but I would never suggest cutting one of those up! Unless, of course, you could find a real beater.
I wonder, would the oil finish hamper the glue joint in any way?
It really is an intriguing idea to splice a 4004(4-2-5 of course) & a 650.
It would be a great combination, & looks appropriate with the guitar on top (much more practical that way, I hate to admit).

Oh man, if they made a 4080 but with lighter materials (i.e. a 4004 and an comparable guitar, rather than a 4003, etc.), that would be so awesome. Imagine, a 4080 that doesn't break your back!
