Aitch, I saw something just like that once, but the Giraffe's head was sliced off by the wing by the time I got my camera...

...bad news for me.

Due to my company growing at such a fast pace , our corporate office has decided to move us to a larger building, Debbie and I won't be able to attend in August. We are moving the store THAT WEEKEND! No vacations, no exceptions.... I can't believe it...my wife and I are so disappointed...we will begin moving at the close of business Friday evening, 8-25 and continue thru Sunday....did anyone hear/feel my groan around 3:00pm today when I heard the news? What luck...

That's terrible news, Chris. Image

Can't you tell them you're booked for open heart surgery that weekend or something like that?

I am so sorry to hear that, Chris.... How disappointing! Image

See if you can convince your boss that this is a once-in-a-lifetime event that can't be missed!

I am trying to regroup here....my boss actually is a Ric owner and we talk Rics frequently, but he doesn't know what my vacation in August is actually about or what I am doing.....the problem is , I can't leave my employees alone to move everything that weekend. I am the manager of that store and have this responsibility....I was thinking of trying to move the move up a weekend....this is my only recourse. If this fails, and it probably will, we won't be going...
Thanks for the well-wishes folks...

Howard, unfortunately I've already used that one this year... Image

Sorry to hear that Chris. Tell upper management you have no choice but to go. Maybe John Hall can put a good word in for you!

Well, I hope I don't have to do the same as Chris....but I found out today I was accepted into this prestigious rotation program at work. It starts on August 21 and the first two weeks are training. I asked the lady in charge if I could cut out any of those days (for the shindig) and she said that it was impossible and that missing any of those days would be too huge.

AAAAARRRRGHHHH...so maybe I can fly in on Friday evening then and leave on Sunday night? I don't know. I'm so bummed.

Friday evening to Sunday night would be far better than nothing, Alisha. "Once in a lifetime event" and all that...... do your best, eh?

Commitment folks! Just say you have a previous engagement at that time that can't be cancelled. Image

No choice...if I miss any days of those first two weeks I'm dropped from the program....but I'll still be there for the weekend. it'll just be shorter than I thought.

Yeah...I'll be there. I'll probably just get there late friday night rather than thursday night.
