Paul B. One of the nicest basses I have ever seen. I love the mink bass.
Life, as with music, often requires one to let go of the melody and listen to the rhythm

Thanks for your comments on the Mink.
But real thanks go to a couple of unsung heroes, Gary Clauson who was instrumental (ouch!) in setting up the Confluence this year (and last), and both he and Joey Vasco for schlepping guitars and basses hither and yon. Joey was kind enough to ship the Mink back to me here in Wisconsin (that is, if he can let go of it), and Melibee's collection and probably several others.
Also to Paul W. for schlepping around a dozen instruments down from his shop and collection in Northern California. And of course for his amazing work rebuilding and refinishing our prized possessions.

Really, I didn't mind schlepping guitars and basses around. Just like the people that were there...the more, the merrier. I know Gary didn't mind it either, since we helped each other schlep them.
Paul, I will ship your bass late this afternoon or lunch time tomorrow, depending on what time I get out of work today. That beauty will not be easy to part with, just like Melissa's purple burst wasn't either.
The bassist scheppeth!

When you see the front of the mink bass it is just a stunning presentation. The white guard with thumbrest and checkered binding really sets off the mink color. Then you flip it over and see the unobstructed view of the mink burst - in good light or the sun it is so beautiful and the wood grain and walnut stripe are still viewable through the purpleness of the color. A really nice piece of work!

Here's a recent Hoffs appearance on Letterman, with Matthew Sweet. Looks similar to the HOB show, with the same Ric I guess.
