Shill job on some one that put up a number just to be sure he won.

Cost him an extra 3K. look at the two days of testing before todays final push looking for the number.

ebay can cost ya if you don't know how to play the game.

There's some justice IMHO in Shadows going up in price. Being bought and sold at ~$2K (and many times at less), I thought they were underrated in comparison to the prices LK's or CS's are getting. The Shadow was a sleeper and it's time for the wake-up call.

I don't think this was a shill situation, if you look at the guy bidding things up, he seems to be buying vintage Rics, so this could just be chipping to try and beat the high bid.

I hope he didnt buy it to flip it right away.

If so, he's in for a big surprise.

the bidding started way too early on this one

7K last year would have gotten you 3 of them and something nice for the wife to keep peace!

I hope he does not get screwed. The loosing bidders have probably already gotten the customary "second chance" offers that seem to accompany big-dollar finishes like this.

Well, well, well!

Can’t say I’m surprised.

This is probably a guy that wanted to secure the bass threw in a ridiculous bid figuring no one would push it that far and just doesn’t have the coin.

That’s why one should bid responsibly.

I don’t like when people are just testing the top. If you want it that bad, drop the big number down as I said earlier in this thread.

I feel bad for all involved if the deal doesn’t materialize.

The second guy would have been on the hook for his bid regardless of what the "winner" bid had he been beaten. If the bass was worth around $7K to both these guys, then why should we complain about how they bid? We can only hope, for the seller's sake, that either of the two high bidders winds up buying the guitar.
