A little 4001 fun

I'd have to find my notes, but just guessing from experience given the known lighting conditions, probably in the 5-10 second range, with an aperture of f32 using my 90/8 Schneider Super Angulon, on T-Max 100 (TMX) film.

Meanwhile back at the guitar shop.....On the subject of making it distinguishable from an original, put a dot at the 21st fret like I did on my 4008CS. There should be one there anyway and it's something RIC's never done on their basses. Okay, time for more pictures....

Nice field camera Jeff. The last time I used my 5" x 4" was about a year ago. All my clients want wretched digital now. I used to love the sheet film with Velvia 50 ASA, crazy over the top saturation, but such fine grain and punch.

Nice shot. I love the effect of water with time exposures. I did some shots once with a ND filter over the lens, stopped down to about f90, and did a shot of water flowing past some rocks. The exposure took about one minute and the effect was like mist swirling around the rocks, not really wet at all. Aaahhh, happy days...

another way to make it not look like a real 4002 ... don't put the xlr output in and use a single ply material for the pickguard ...

I second Jeff's idea. I always thought the 5 ply ABS picguard was so Fenderish. I always assumed the 3000's came with ABS guard because they were bottom of the line. I'd go with an acrylic guard.

The 5 layer laminate looks so good with the checkerboard binding and black neck and head binding. It also ties in nicely with the dark ebony and pearly white dots. I will leave out the fancy jack.
