How about an update on the studio, Tony?
Life, as with music, often requires one to let go of the melody and listen to the rhythm

Are we still getting these by Christmas ? Maybe we need to set a deadline. In my experience, deadlines are a good thing, else the work never gets done ! All of my CDs had a self-imposed deadline.

Hello, everyone, been busy playing music, not posting...........Gary, I am wondering about the comment regarding the Rick sound....... I would hope that this would be an opportunity to hear what artists are doing with their Rics, not just to hear the" Ric sound". I, for one , would like to see Rickenbackers not considered a niche instrument, and find out what people who play them are really doing. I can understand rejecting some cuts due to things like what I had---sound card issues, but not because they don't have a certain sound. Just a thought.
Kaia, I'm pretty much in agreement with you on that point.
As I listened and listened to the submissions, I felt that some were, indeed, excellent examples of the jingle-jangle we all expect, but that others 'stretched the envelope' (no electronic music pun intended) and were better in helping to disprove the 'one trick pony' myth about RICs, both guitars and basses. I don't know which ones Tony has in mind for inclusion on the CD, but I'm hoping that they do capture the width of RIC capability.

I can assure you that my feeling that Rics are more versatile than given credit for, matches yours Kaia. Rics are so much more than that famous 'jangle'. If that were the only criteria, them my own submission wouldn't make the cut! Rest assured, that submissions will NEVER be rejected because they do not conform to 'that' Ric sound. After all....we all have our own ideas on what 'that' Ric sound is!
'Rickenbacker'...what a name! After all these years, it still thrills me.

Kaia, if jangle was the pre-requisite, I wouldn't have bothered submitting the song I did. I did get a nice Ric bass tone, though, even though I used a home made Jazz copy!
Here's another compilation project I am involved in, all for a good cause. http://www.icompositions.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=4050 It's too late to submit, but you can donate and get an interesting mix of music, should you wish.
Eagerly waiting......
