Chris Brubeck
A friend here at work just lent me a Chris Brubeck CD when he noticed the RIC poster in my cube. Chris, son of Dave Brubeck, plays a MG fretless 4001. My friend, who met him, says he thinks her remember Chris telling him it is a '68.

LOL John....

That's a pretty cool letter that Chris sent in, did anyone notice a jazz bass pup in the bridge position?
Dave Meros ought to send in a write up on his ricks past and present, I think his current jetglo one has four j-bass pups.

Hi there. Just got home. Well, I don't have any pics of Chris Brubeck's actual non-one-off '69 (?) fretless 4001, but I do have pics (I hope they're not too large to post in here - must check first) of "on and off" forumite James Grove's "fretted" fretless 4001 which is identical to Brubeck's. Stay in tune while I look for the photos. Cheers.
A Rickenbacker bass is much like the Jaguar E car - perennially ultra-fashionable.
Okay, here are some pics of James Grove's heavily modded, "fretted" fretless 4001. You will notice the very lame fret job, but that's not
important now. Also notice that it is a "21 fretter". TRC not period accurate.
Chris Brubeck's 4001 is exactly like this one.
