Fender Jaguar bass
Jim, the bridge cover is a standard Fender Precision cover part # 001-0108-000. It's not a aftermarket cover by Allparts or any of thoses guys, so it fits perfectly on the Jaguar.
John, I'm not surprised that you haven't heard back from them. As I mentioned to you, FMIC have clamped down on them shipping to the USA.
Perhaps FMIC will expand the finish choices as one of their NAMM announcements.

Heard back from them. No white in stock, just 3TS (Which I would gladly take as well) and the US colors.
Unfortunatley, the shipping costs take it over my budget. I'm going to wait for NAMM and see if I can get some of the new colors domestically. Otherwise, i'm seriously considering buying a red or black one and eventually getting it refinished. Shell Pink or Sonic Blue, most likely.

OK Jon, Lars, and gang. I may be getting a Fender Jaguar too. I've got two Ric basses (4001S and 4003) and also a nice little Hagstrom collection.
Of any Fender bass I might get soon, I'm thinking this might be it. I'm sort of "old school" and like the tonal variability to come from the bass - which the Jaguar looks to have in spades. I also like the idea that it's got the jazz neck and pickups. Paul McCartney did some pretty neat things with a jazz on the White Album at least (Glass Onion, etc.).
I'd love to play one locally, but I frankly haven't seen any. Lots of jazzes and p basses though. I may give Wildwood Guitars (also a Ric dealer) to see what they've got. There are also other various stores and dealers in Colorado.
This model has been in the the back of my mind for months now. It seems to have everything I like: tonal range, retro looks (like the Rics and Hagstroms), 2 single coil pickups, etc., etc.
Any updates on the sunburst and other finish availability in the U.S.?
Are there any caveats to this thing, or has everyone who's gotten one (or two, or three) never looked back?

I think they are great value for the money.
At $700 you can't go wrong. I put on Chromes (strings) immediately and (as you said) never looked back.

John, I'm told by the folks at Ishibashi that the Vintage White Jaguar's are no longer being made. Hense, no longer available new.
Hot Rod Red, Black and Three Tone Sunburst are the only finishes now available.
BTW, I'm no longer a RIC owner and have no regrets. My Jaguar's have seen to that. That's why I rarely visit this site anymore.
