Looks good. But it seems like I saw them 25 years ago.
This is off the record

isn't that what they're trying to look like?

Saw it last night.... Death Proof (Tarantino's) was far better than Planet Terror which was just a disjointed second rate zombie movie.

Death Proof got a little slow in the middle, but the ending sequence was great. I wish the movie had ended with them returning the car to the hillbilly and saying "we hit a deer".

Unfortunately for Tarantino and Rodriguez, Grindhouse is doing very disappointing revenues at the boxoffice. Does anyone know if they had to do last minute editing in order to avoid the NC-17 rating?

Yes, they were doing last minute editing in order to secure the R rating. Editing especially affected the Thanksgiving trailer. Editing was going on up to the middle of the week ending Mar. 31.
As far as "disappointing" revenues, being in a projected number 4 is considered a failure now, when it's still good. Any movie that doesn't have a solid first is considered a dismal failure. I think that the studios' basing any sort of decisions on a first weekend gross is stupid anyway. A great example is Office Space which bombed at the theaters. It is a huge cult film, so much that Mike Judge was offered the chance to do a sequel. He refused citing that he didn't want to deal with the stuff he did the first time around with the studios demanding opening weekend successes.

agreed... this will have lasting power as it is an instant cult film, sort of. I too want to see the uncut version, although I suspect that most of the cutting was on Rodriguez's half.

The producers knew that the hype over the NC-17 status would only drive up eventual DVD sales, so they'll probably be crying all the way to the band.

It was easter weekend, most families wouldn't be rushing to the movies I would say.

Uncut DVD will be insane!
