Interesting, the block in this instrument resembles the Callaham block, as you can see the ball ends just beneath the surface.
Life, as with music, often requires one to let go of the melody and listen to the rhythm

I've often wondered what happened to Buddy's '55, not to mention the other one that he had that was ripped. Amazing to think he had two strats stolen in his short career, not including the ones stolen from the Beatles from their storage space, he lost more guitars on his U.S. tours than that entire band did in many U.K. tours and three world tours (perhaps Buddy had no road managers. That might have helped.)

What the heck is a "#5 sheet metal screw"?

...and the thread dies. Either the Fender restoration expert does not know his sheet metal screws, or the journalist's tape recorder changed "#12" to "5"...

When it comes to rock 'n roll, it's astounding how sloppy some people get with the details.

I play a 56 Custom Shop "relic" at GC.I don't usually like "relics" but that was a nice guitar.

What are they asking for those nowadays? I have an '88 strat '62 reissue that I bought for $800 two years ago, in mint condition. I have to say it's pretty sweet.

The relic ones, depending on model and "degree" of relic, push $2k but can be had used for around $1500. Last i checked, anyway.

Yeah, the more destroyed they are, the more they cost.

Sure wish that worked with houses, cars, and boats!

Fixer downer Har! Funny, I've been on a Buddy Holly kick for about 2 weeks now and have not gotten tired of it. Listening with fresh ears. LOL

Indeed on the guitar.

Buddy's fun to play. Blue Days Black Nights I always fall into strumming.
