As for the ******** about Genesis "Abandoning" prog rock after Hackett's departure.

"And then there were three" has "Down and Out", "Deep in the motherload" and "Scenes From A Night Dream"
"Duke" has "Heathaze", "Duke's Travels" and "Duke's end"
"Abacap" has "Dodo Lurker"
"Genesis" (The "Mama" album) has "Second home by the sea"
"Invisible touch" has "Tonight, tonight, tonight" "Domino" and "The Brazillian"
"We can't dance" has "Driving the last spike"

All of which are long pieces of incredible musicianship and unusual passages, in short: Prog rock.

True, but those songs are not like Genesis' groundbreaking (so to speak) works like Supper's Ready, Get 'Em Out By Friday, Watcher Of The Skies, Battle Of Epping Forest, and Firth Of Fifth to name just a few truly great songs by the lads.

I do like a lot of the later Genesis, but it really became a different band by the time Hackett left, with the exception of And Then There Were Three, which overall is an excellent album

I like pretty much all of Genesis' music, both with and without Peter Gabriel. But, I never investigated "Calling All Stations". Even with their lineup changes, I still think they had a very strong musicianship to everything they did. Their whole catalog is very enjoyable.

Things did get to be a bit boring between Mike and the Mechanics and Phil's solo career, but hey, it was the 80's and there was a lot of that going on.

I know, it's only knock-and-know-all...
I didn't get where I am today by being on time...

But I like IT.

Wouter, I'm surprised you didn't mention Fading Lights and Dividing Line.

And I even like all of Calling All Stations. I feel like there is something wrong with me when I hear you guys talk all things G! Image

I thought some folks here might be interested in seeing some pretty good pictures of the new Genesis stage set that they are trucking around on their latest tour ("Zoo T.V." meets "Close Encounters"). But seriously, it looks like one amazing show:
