Check out the Rainbow Quartz Records site and click on
the band, The Zinedines (from Majorca of all places) and play their download "Twice Upon A Time" - rich, albeit
"borrowed" RIC jangle pop. I like it - how about you all?

Six Pence non the poorer should have been publicly flayed for that cover version. There should be a law against bands covering certain songs and releasing them as singles. Fine, do it as a B-side, an album filler, part of your live set, but releasing a song like that as your own single is just not on.

Some songs are just way way way to perfect for others to be even allowed to do their "take" on it.

Hangin's too good for em.

As for the heroin thing, I've never heard that before. There are some lines that could be taken that way but only if you want them to be in my opinion.

the Boo Radleys version was much more up-tempo

Wow, my first look at The Singles. Great stuff. And a 350V63, no less.

Hey, I LOVE Sixpence None the Richer--they're one of my favorite bands--I occasionally play covers of some of their songs.

The video was cool--I always suspected they used a Ric on that song!

That whole Singles album is very 60's inspired pop-rock. It's a lot of fun to listen to. Thanks for posting that video.

They're a new LA band that's getting a lot of airplay right now on Little Steven's Underground Garage on Sirius radio. I like the song; very Beatle-ish.

I didnt follow this post from the start. Pretty good 12 sting for the Letterman guitarist.
