"You love your music more than me" ... how many times have we heard that one !

I can't really complain though. All of my girls have been pretty understanding, over the years.

Melissa, good luck with that. I hope to hear you singing on some produced music very soon !

Yeah, I don't have nearly as much time as I would prefer for music.
I can go a week without picking up an instrument. Generally, I tend to write and record after everyone is asleep, like at midnight or so and go for an hour or two.

However, I have recently (in the last two months) started playing with a band for the first time in probably a dozen years and we are getting gigs. Now if I can just get them involved with writing tunes, things might go a little faster. We only practice once a week or so and we've only had two gigs in the first two months, but we're all pretty decent and we can usually pick up a complete song in two or three takes, so we don't need THAT much practice. What's hard is getting them to contribute to writing.

UPDATE Re: The Forum CD Project is ON!

Post by doctorwho »

Here's the latest on the Forum CD project.

- Tony has ready a final version of the CD and is preparing to send it to me shortly; however, there are some postal strikes in the UK now which have caused a disruption in mail service for him, so it is not clear when I will receive it.

- I have tentatively located a local CD duplication service for making copies once I receive Tony's copy. The insert(s) will be simple printings on a standard color printer, after some small finishing work. I plan on being the North/South/Central American distributor for the CDs; it is not clear yet who will supply the needs to Australia, etc.

- We have not decided on price or preferred means of payment yet.

I'd like to reiterate that in spite of the delay(s), this project is nearing fruition and that those of us involved have not been slacking.

Another update Re: The Forum CD Project is ON!

Post by doctorwho »

Tony has just sent again the 'master' CD (yes, there's a Doctor Who joke there ... :) ), so I am hoping that I will get this one safe and sound in a couple of weeks. I will be lining up the reproduction service so that when I get it, I can take it in immediately. I will keep my fingers crossed that we can get these out in time the holiday season.

I got the CD from Tony on Monday, safe and sound (whew!). We (i.e., Tony, Peter, and me) have a few things to discuss but they are not (nor will be) obstacles.

I will start a new thread to get a rough estimate of how many CDs we should get made.
