It seems the first batch of "Cheyenne II" basses were made with beautiful quilted tops. Unlike the current Cheyenne IIs, the construction was similar to the Cheyenne (I) with the addition of the quilted top. If you were to view the back, it would look just like the old Cheyenne. Somewhere along the way, they switched to the maple front and back with a walnut center ("walnut sandwich"). There was a righty like this one on eBay some four years ago that I wanted, but was outbid.
The TRC is typical of left-handed Cheyennes; in fact, ALL leftie Ricks have back-painted plexi TRCs. Why? Evidently, when RIC went to the raised-letter TRC style (cheaper and sturdier, I suspect), they made molds for only right-handed TRCs.
