I think Butler's is overvalued.

The bass that Geezer owned that would probably sell for quite a bit is the acrylic Dan Armstrong, which can see be seen in the Black Sabbath Vol 4 album insert. It's now at the Guitar Center Hollywood museum/music walk of fame.

It's a double bound Fireglo with a weird oversized pickguard. Like someone else's I know...

Ted, it hasn't been established that Graham used that bass on the recording, but I hope he did. Someday I'll find out.

I'd be far more interested in Geddy's Mapleglo 4002 at $350K. His 4001JG is so...common.

Don't forget Roger Glover's Rick basses, surely responsible for one of the most memorable and iconic rock anthems, "Smoke On The Water." I think he had two, a Jetglo and maybe a Burgundy, both modified at some point with Jazz-type pickups mounted at an angle. He recently had the Jetglo restored at a luthier in Milwaukee (3-5 years ago).

As far as I remember, Roger Glover's burgundy was actually a fireglo, which also was modified in the same way as the jetglo one (2 slanted Jazz Bass PUs in the bridge PU position) and which he passed over to Pete Agnew form Nazareth during the time Roger was their producer. However since the last 20 years Pete is playing his Alembic Series I exclusively. Maybe he passed on his Rick to someone else?

Let us not forget Peter Quaife of The Kinks with his RM and Jon Camp of Renaisace and his 4000. I think these two have influenced me more on my Rickenbackers than I thought, until now.

Don't forget the 4001 that Geezer played was given to him by Deep Purple's Glenn Hughes. I think Glenn used it much more than Geezer.
I never seen a picture of Roger Glover with anything but a JG 4001. Does anybody have any pictures of Roger with a FG 4001?
