Yes I tried it on 80s high gains and it destroys the pickup :cry:

Think I'll send some 82 guitar high gains to ebay . Some things on this forum are too serious to joke about.......no , the V63 is not really being routed for P bass pickups :)

I think best results could be had with a coal chissel and a five pound sledge hammer.

Put in emgs a preamp and route it out for a batterbox 8)

Dane, what is the effect of using two bridge pickups versus one bridge and one neck? I'm now leaning this route rather than route the bass or destroy the pickups.

Bruce, the bridge pickups for guitar have a slightly wider spacing between the two end poles than the neck pickups. With the wider spacing of the 4004, you'd want the pickups with the biggest spread, especially with a 4-2-5 conversion.
