Couldn't agree more. They just jump out at you compared to the poured ones, which kind of disappear into the neck. Of course some will prefer that, but I like my inlays to stand out.

Not all poured inlays fade into the fretboard. Because this was an oft-repeated hand operation, the mixes of the pearl toner and resin, along with the pouring techniques, result in a wide variation of opacities, and when properly varnished, most look pretty deep. Some, unfortunately, have too little toner and look dark gray or gray-green. No fix for those, except to re-do.
