Brian: The Valadiers was Motown's first white group and signed in 1961, I think.

Ok just caught this before i shut this comp down.I think its The Mynah Birds with Neil Young and Rick James!
The Mynah Birds is remembered in the song "Big Time" on the album Broken Arrow.Im sure they were the first white act to be signed on Motown.Altho no tracks were from the band were released due to rick james being arrested! i thinks!
