Lemonade

Trying something a little different here...still a work in progress.

Lemonade

I'm on the run
In the summer sun
She likes to take it easy

I feel my thirst
But she comes first
And then it's cool and breezy

I used to drink to feel all right
But since she taught me day from night
It's out of sight

My Lemonade
She's so sweet
She takes the heat
And makes it into shady shade
Won't even think
About a drink
Just want my Lemonade

When I'm in pain
She brings me rain
Washes all the blues away

When I’m withdrawn
She pours it on
Splashing colors on the gray

I used to drink to feel all right
But when she switches on the light
It's out of sight

My Lemonade...
I'm a roman candle
Great balls of fire
When I'm afraid
She knows why
I get hard to handle
When all I desire
Is Lemonade
My Lemonade...

So when I burn
She takes her turn
Says she's my biggest fan
When I'm hot
She hits the spot
She knows I'm just a thirsty man

I used to drink to feel all right
Now I can tell the fight from flight
It's out of sight

My Lemonade
She's so sweet
She takes the heat
And makes it into shady shade
Don't even think
About a drink
Just want my Lemonade
And if I blow
She slows the flow
And when I see her fade
I hold her near
Beside the mirror
And kiss my Lemonade

Another top quality song and performance. A great 'summer feel good' song,

You've definitely got 'the tone' with your vocals, and the harmonies are sweet. The arrangement is spot on and the production sound on all the instruments is pure and unfussy. Superb!

Probably my fave track so far.

Great work.

Yeah, the influences are pretty obvious, but there's nothing wrong with that as your influences are solid gold!

Anyway, besides all that, you always put your own stamp on things too.

Sounds cool to me.

Looking forward to your album.......

Mark,

That is your best of the best. I like your stuff............you know that, but this has gone so far over the top of everything else that you now have a new gold standard. What's cool about it, is that you've established the highbar yourself. First class my friend. First class all the way.

Mark: I cannot remember the last time I listened to a new song and felt the shivers up the nape of my neck as I did in listening to your composition.

This well-crafted song, refreshes like a soft summer rain, quenches the thirst following a long musical drought and comforts the soul after a long journey away.

Simply outstanding. :)
Life, as with music, often requires one to let go of the melody and listen to the rhythm

Hey, that's the spirit! I agree entirely...the best is always yet to come. To quote Mary, Queen of Scots: "I'm not dead yet!"

Thanks Tom!
