Anything less than an embracing of all the "idiosyncrasies" of our beloved instruments has been and is not always met with the courtesies and tolerance everyone here is professing. Before you react, think about it and be honest. I just don't want, as Peter and the others have professed, this place to turn into a ***** session.
John, I had a really long response to this ready to post, but what it all boils down to is essentially this: while I understand what you're saying, I would have to say that Rickenbackers
are idiosyncratic, "take 'em or leave 'em" type of instruments. There are many people who are used to playing Fenders or Gibsons that try out a Rickenbacker, and don't like it because it's different from what they're used to. These people can be intolerant towards us, and in turn, we can be intolerant towards them.
We all just need to chill. The reason I've stuck around
this forum is because there's no drama. Everybody here is cool. Let's continue to be. Like Brian said - let's all take a deep breath.
