Stuart. I am using Weber Neo 12s.They are very much like what a JBL 12 bass speaker would have been if JBL had made some. Beautiful lansing tone with a smooth bottom. I love em ! Kustom T&R show up all the time on SF craigslist. There was a 3x15 around here for about a year $150.

I use both channels just like you.

I also Love my 4001. A 1979MG with a "Toaster", a brass Hipshot and "vintage" tone circuit added.

Back in the day, my (pants flapping) rig was two Acoustic 470 amps - one powering a 6x12 sealed cabinet, and the other powering a 360 18" folded horn cabinet. It was freakin' loud, but clean as a whistle. This was taken about 1975.

Dag, Roy! That had to be some rig. I remember hearing Acoustic rigs back then and that is my recollection - clean as a whistle. Welcome aboard the RRF train!

Welcome to the forum, Roy. Your volume must have been thundering with your 4001 through those Acoustic amps!

Thanks for the welcome - That rig It was definitely a "pants flapper". The 18" speaker was completely inaudible on stage, the physics of it focused the sound out about 20-30 feet, where it was really LOUD. I used to have the sound guy go to about 40 feet out during our first song to get the balance right between the "sub bass" of the 18" and the clicky rick sound of the 12"s. Good times!

I was wondering if there were any other Kustom Amp users on this forum. I'm not talk about affordable practice amps that you get on musiciansfiend, but the padded vinyl ones of the 60's and 70's. I pick one up a month ago I I think its one of the best sounding amps I've played through. The amp has two separate channels which work wonderfully with a ric-o-sound kit and its LOUD! I was curious if anybody else would like to comment on these great amps.

I bought a Kustom 200 with 2-215 cabs in blue sparkle tuck'n'roll back in about 1970 or 71. This was an upgrade from a Fender Bassman with 2-12's. Mostly, I remember everyone screaming at me to turn it down, windows rattling, and angry parents. But just last night we played a gig at a 500 seat venue where I was using a Genz Benz NeoPak with a NeoX 210 cab. The sound guys said I was so loud that they took me out of the system. (darn bass haters) Even though the Kustom was excellent at the time, I eventually sold it. I couldn't say how it compares to modern equipment because my memory isn't that good.
