68 RIC 375

Post by NEAF »

I have aquire a 1968 Rickenbacker 375 fireglow. This guitar is in perfect condition. There are no dents or gouges. It plays soooo sweet. I have every thing that it came with. A gray rectangle case with blue velvet, original strap,, wipe cloth, cord, ricken-sound box, all paper work. Does anybody know what it's value would be?

Is it double bound? Or just binding on the backside?

Hello Mark, welcome to the forum. If you can please post a picture -- it sounds like you have one beautiful guitar.

It is bound only on the back. It kind of has a serrerated look.
I will post pictures soon.

Cool, a 375 New Style. The "serrated look" is checked or checkered binding. Depending on condition and the ****** economy.....maybe $3000. - $4500.? A pic or three would be nice.

Case candy...an interesting topic. I wonder if it was coined in response to the NAMM Fender Life Savers (1/2 pack size) that dealers used to have in plastic tubs on their counters back in the '60s? These found their way into many a case compartment, along with literature, polish cloth, and other factory packs.

I've always wanted a 375... like a 360 but with 3 pickups and only 21 frets.

I don't think any 375-12 models were made, as that would make it a three pickup, twelve string, vibrato-equipped instrument. Try keeping that baby in tune! :D

Here's a couple of photos of the 370-12 model instead:-
