A wonderful conclusion to one of the most wild and long-winded sagas of this forum.

Congrats, Jake!

...and I second the point that people like Kevin are what make this forum truly special.

"Tis the season for stories such as Jake's, involving such a salt-of-the-earth dude like Kevin. It restores one's faith in humanity. Props to both of you. Peace.....Goofyfoot.
Play on, pick often, jam with any Rickenbacker, and prosper.

Kevin Kuney...you ROCK!

Jake, now it's your turn...both to rock, and play it forward.

Merry Christmas everyone.....

I've been playing the 1997 for about 30 minutes now...non-stop! I've probably said it before, but it's the best guitar I've ever owned, and the versatility is amazing!

I've been playing the Who tracks:
I Can't Explain
Anyway, Anyhow, Anywhere
Daddy Rollin' Stone
The Ox
A Legal Matter
The Kids Are Alright
My Generation
Substitute
I'm a Boy
Happy Jack
Summertime Blues (Pete used a Gibson SG Classic/SG Special on this song, but I didn't care when I played it!)
Barbara Ann (The Who covered this Beach Boys classic in 1966 for their "Ready, Steady, Who!" EP)
Disguises
Run, Run, Run
Boris the Spider
So Sad About Us

I'm about to finish up with the Mini-opera "A Quick One While He's Away", which I learned how to play last night (by ear)!

My amp situation has been temporarily solved. My dad has a friend who lives up the road from us. He knows everything there is to know about the blues, inside and out. I told him about my amp problem, and he said, "I have this Fender amp I never use...has all these special effects that I don't want to fool with. You can borrow it until you return to school." It's a Fender Princeton 65 DSP solid-state amp. For a solid state, it's pretty awesome. It has a 12-inch speaker, and all these cool effects...reverb, vibrato, chorus, delay, etc. Sounds a lot better than the Marshall DFX30 I have! I'm getting pure jangle from this Fender!

By the way, I brought the 1997 to the "blues man" (as I call him)'s house and he played THE BLUES on it! He thought it was a "damn good guitar!" He loved the feel of the neck, and the sound of the pickups.

This is really a fantasy thread until we see PICS!

The Princeton Chorus 65 is a very popular amp, no wonder it blows away the Marshall. 8)

In Jake's defense, after getting the 1997, he probably can't afford a digital camera!
