I used the 1997 last night at my Uncle's Christmas party...everyone was impressed with my playing...until I broke a string during my last song! I was mad, and stopped playing altogether (cos I broke the string that was needed in the song) but I was still applauded by my family.

I went home to restring it with a set of Ric Compressed Roundwounds, when I ended up stringing them the wrong way (a way I really can't tell you how I did it), so I bought 3 packs of Thomastik-Infeld flatwounds in 10 gauge for the 1997. I'm sure I'll love the flats all the same :)

That's a great Christmas tale. 50 years from now you can tell grandkids about the "String that broke at Christmas".

Glad to hear your new axe is getting seen and a lot of attention.

Best,

Manta

What? Well, we ALL know what you should have done, smash your guitar, just like Pete Townshend!
I have NO idea what to do with those skinny stringed things... I'm just a bass player...

Figures, I'm waiting all this time to see what you get, even start a thread today asking what it was, only to find out you posted it here.

Congratulations on your guitar. Maybe there is a Fender site you can sell your Strat on, much better than con-signment

Kudos to Kevin for coming through on this deal, as I'm sure Jake was one happy chappy when it all came through. :D

My computer has been out of service the past week or two...my mom's boss let me use his old laptop, and that died...and now I'm back on my regular computer.

The pics need to be scanned, and my computer's needing everything reinstalled...the pics ARE on the way
