I guess it's because they will still take orders for the three models they're stopping production of, through the NAMM show.

Thanks for the pics, Scott. That was sort of like my sneak preview.

Gary will be there tomorrow, too. I may come at the end of the day. We'll see how it pans out. Have fun!

I'm going. Planned on Thurs. - Sun., but O.T. Thurs. & Fri. (tonight) put the kebosh on and harshed my mellow.
Gotta be thankful for the work, however.
Doubt I can get any secrets out of anyone at the Rick display, though!

This sounded sweet, though.

Love the flame on the mapleglo. Same old Same old, only you can't GET them. I havent
been to NAMM since 2001, I always looked forward to the Rickenbacker booth.
Can't get them?

It is a little discouraging to know that no matter how bad you may want a particular model, it is usually necessary to play the waiting game. So you're at the Ric booth drooling over this excellent C64. When you ask at the booth where you can get one, you are told that they aren't available, check ebay. :(

BTW, if anyone has ever read a thread where I was knocking FG a little due to some of them having only a red outline on the egde....well, this looks like Paul finished it. Perfect!!!

I would say you are most likely looking at Eric Behring's handiwork there. Very nice dark FG.

There were several examples of fireglo there. A 660 that didn't have the sides covered ala 60's style.

Also this:

An excellent burst that showed the figure of the maple like a burst. The red was a nice cherry color that was translucent all the way to the sides and the center had just enough yellow cast to keep it from being pink. Well worth drooling over.
