That's for sure!

+1 on that!

I just want to express my appreciation of the upside-down headstock and its smiley TRC. I won't claim not to be a poser, but aside from that, it tickles my eccentric sensibilities and besides, those basses look so darn happy all the time. :D :D :D

Tony and I were thinking the same thing; it would be really cool to be able to order any guitar in one of the trans finishes. I wouldn't mind having one or both of my 381 refinished in one of the trans finishes!

Sweet? Well, he was very gracious in signing autographs and taking pics with us. When I told him I played Rickenbacker basses he said "They make great f***'n basses".

Before Sean swoops on that quote....I would like to say that pretty much sums it up.

I think Ric has been doing a great job with the 4003. To me it would just be nice if we could get options like checkerboard binding, toaster, reissue horseshoe pickup etc from the factory. A color of the year would be cool too.

I would like them to do a 4001 bass like c64 but with normal headstock and less price. That's all from me.

Other than checkered binding, the current 4003 has been morphed into the V68 (after swapping out a few parts of course), so I can see why something like that doesn't need to happen.
Why wouldn't it "need to happen"? The 4003 doesn't have the checkered binding and we can't get the parts to swap.
They've never released a "Deluxe" reissue, just variations of the "S" models. On the other hand, there are guitar reissue variations out the yingyang.
As much as I'd like to see a V63 back, it's time for a Deluxe 4001 reissue!

The only part not available for the 4003 to V68 conversion is a horseshoe pickup, and this depends when in '68 you draw the line since that was the year the horseshoe was changed to the highgain. Truss rod cover, knobs, toaster and pickguard are readily available with the binding being the only sticking point.
