Best line of the film:
"I look like Stevie f***ing Nicks!"

Close second: "But what about the farewell drugs?"
:D :D
"So, do I have to-bleep- you or what?"

Oh man, that voice, how he never hung himself is beyond me.

Either "The Rolling Stones' Rock and Roll Circus" or "Tommy" did it for me...but then again, I haven't seen too many rock films.

This was a thread about the rock movie pertaining to your age/generation right? To the others I'll list "The Decline of a Western Civilization(part 1 only!), UKDK, and Surburbia."

Will you be my new bff?

:D

Decline 2: The Metal Years may be the funniest R&R movie I've ever seen. Whether it was intentionally funny is debatable.

It may not be the greatest, but one that should not be forgotten is Roadie, a Meat Loaf vehicle from the early 80s (I think) that featured appearances and cameos by a whole bunch of real-world musicians.

This.

Friends told me I should have been in this movie. The tours I have done were a cross between Spinal Tap and Hard Core Logo.
Here it is online: WARNING Language, violence, adult situations and loud music.

Bruce McDonalds earlier effort Roadkill is also a really good rock & roll movie.
Thanks,I never saw this before.I love this fan vid(below).I thought it was a trailer!

It counts in my book, too, Roy...for the same reason that The Party is a great jazz movie...

Many on my list other Forumites have mentioned.... I figure you have to put Woodstock and Altamount right next to each other, to have the high-point contrast wth the low point of music fetivals that fateful year, 1969

A Hard Day's Night
Woodstock
Gimme Shelter
Concert for Bangla Desh
Let It Be
Moterey Pop
Bob Dylan - Don't Look Back
Pink Floyd Live at Pompeii (the Director's Cut)
Blind Faith - London Hyde Park 1969
Help!
Big Sur Music Festival documentary
Imagine
Bob Dylan's 30th Anniversary documentary
Rolling Stones Rock and Roll Circus
Yellow Submarine
Pink Floyd - Pulse
Bob Dylan - No Direction Home
The Last Waltz
Fillmore - The Last Days
David Gilmour in Concert (Acoustic)
Cream Farewell Concert 1968
Led Zeppelin - the Song Remains the Same
Sweet Toronto (John Lennon & Plastic Ono Band)
John Lennon - One to One Concert
Clapton's 2007 Crossroads Event
The Who - Tommy
Cream ReUnion Concert

Anyway, some ideas for DVDs to rent...
