Austin,Texas
Sat. Feb.21st.
The Paramount Theatre, a really nice old theatre on Congress Ave. downtown.
One set of early Beatles followed by a set of later Beatles with the orchestra.

+1 looking forward to seeing it on the net.brammy wrote:WOW, congrats, Ronn ... very cool indeed.
It would be a cryin shame if it wasn't properly recorded and video'd, eh?
Well, we don't tour anymore, I'm 50, with a 10 month old...jps wrote:I can't find a tour schedule, what's up with that, Ronn?![]()
Do make sure you get a professional recording of that. If you need a recommendation, a friend of mine in Columbus does orchestral recordings for a living, so just fly Dave and me down there!
C'mon down!jps wrote:I guess I'll just have to mosey on down to Texas one of these days.
The orchestra shows are awesome, and kinda overwhelming. I highly enjoy them but they are lots of work, rehearsals with an orchestra are long with much down-time for the band(I bring a book). The payoff for all that work is huge tho'.brammy wrote:Hey Ronn.... do you like these big orchestra things? Whats your favorite type/size of gig with The Eggmen?
thanks.... I had a sneaking feeling that was the case. I think that would be my take on things too.... (not that I've ever played big gigs mind you).my fave place we play is probably a medium-sized, family-owned Mexican restaurant in South Austin, Jovita's.
Reminds me of 2 things:brammy wrote:thanks.... I had a sneaking feeling that was the case. I think that would be my take on things too.... (not that I've ever played big gigs mind you).my fave place we play is probably a medium-sized, family-owned Mexican restaurant in South Austin, Jovita's.
Here's a quote... "small venues are great, but when the dancers are accidentally stomping on your stomp box, you've gone a little too far"
Someplace like Jovita's sounds like a GREAT place to play------
