All,
I submit myself to your mercy as I may have been an unwitting participant in that thread. I had some difficulty getting my registration squared away here and I couldn't seem to make contact with a moderator. I saw the resurrected thread over there and mentioned my problem in the context of " is the RRF down or am I doing something wrong?" As most of the folks I've talked with over there seem to know what's going on over here too, I was hoping somebody could fill me in. Then some of the posts started to get a bit ugly after that. Anyway, Gil Disatnik saw my post and contacted me via email. He got me all squared away over here within a day.
Regardless of which forum does what, it seems they both cater to the same group of enthusiasts with a common interest. That in itself is way more positive than negative! The last thing I want in my leisure time is more stress and squabbling...I get enough of that in my day job! I deeply apologize if I in any way caused that thread to rise from the dead and turn ugly.
Thanks Gil for all your help and I'm glad to be aboard.
Best,
AJ

Welcome aboard AJ! Your resurrecting that thread over on the RIC site didn't force the dissenters to start all the negativity, they'll do that given just about any opportunity. Glad your registration got worked out, there are a lot of great folks here on the RRF, as there are on the RIC site!

You're most welcome here, AJ. You had nothing to do with the negativity on that thread. I just looked at it again and it was a user going under the moniker of "valleyboyone" who started the downward spiral with his outright undeserved criticism of the RRF.

I don't recognize the names of many of those who jumped into the fray there--except for one former RRF member who made some rude comments of a personal nature here, back in '06, and hasn't been heard from since. Seems that there's still a grudge there.

AJ welcome to the forum - as Woody said pics and text about your Avatar please! I can speak from personal experience that any number of things (ISP setup, Virus & Spam ware, Browser settings...) can hamper link ups to web sites. There are a great bunch here (Peter et al) who do their utmost (mostly behind the scenes) to keep this well oiled machine known as RRF running. The forumites themselves are some of the best around - this is one of the nicest sites I have witnessed. I think you will like it here.

Hi AJ, and welcome. I remember your post, and also remember that it was others who made comments that caused the thread to die. Frankly, you didn't say anything wrong. Glad you are finally aboard! :D
