Rickenbacker Strap
I received a Rickenbacker Strap as a stocing stuffer for Christmas.
Tried it and didnt really dig it.
Tried it again tonight and still feel the same way.
Who has one and do you use it?

Re: Rickenbacker Strap
I use a Couch Guitar Strap, actually. A red "Racer X" made from vintage vinyl. It's great and matches my AFG 4003FL really well.
Re: Rickenbacker Strap
I use a Rick strap with my 330.
Re: Rickenbacker Strap
I've heard they are pretty good with guitars, not so much with basses, too thin and maybe short, I guess, although I haven't even seen one in flesh.
I spent a great deal of time at a GC shop choosing my strap, I wanted a confortable leather strap that would match my FG as well as my other bass which is cheap black and red airspray paint.. Finally I found a bordeaux one which is crazy... Straps are an important part of your playing, don't use it if it's not confortable for you... just my opinion...
Cheers!

I really like the Gibson leather straps.
They are a bit hard to find (here), but the are wide, comfy, and fine after a bit of wearing in!

I use one for bass. I like the looks too much and when carefully placing the cushion part it's not such a pain in the as^H^H shoulder.
Re: Rickenbacker Strap
This one's real comfy...
Look good too!

Re: Rickenbacker Strap
I have a burgundy strap that I use occasionally. Most of the time, I use one of three El Dorado straps.

Re: Rickenbacker Strap
I've got two or three Rickenbacker straps and several more of the same style; I dig 'em. They were a little stiff when I got them, I think I put them in the dryer to soften them up a bit.

Re: Rickenbacker Strap
I don't like the Rickenbacker strap. I really dig the Couch straps.
Re: Rickenbacker Strap
I'm not a big fan of the Rickenbacker strap either. I had a very cool custom strap made that looks like the one McCartney is wearing in this picture. Very soft leather and very comfortable.
Re: Rickenbacker Strap
I made both of mine . one is a diamond shape metal studded belt i bought at hot topic, chopped to fit and rounded the ends . The other is a standard black leather 3" wide strap that i pounded big round metal studs in.
Re: Rickenbacker Strap
A Rickenbacker strap? Yeah I have one and I use it!
Not on my Rickenbacker instruments, though!

Re: Rickenbacker Strap
Is there not some kind of metal buckle on the Ric strap?
I saw a picture, and was a bit worried about getting one because of the potential damage to the bass!
Oh, and the price - over here they sell for about £25 ($38)!
