Scott, look for a machinist's rule. They usually have 50ths, 100ths, 32nds, and the 64ths you want, and measure from the edge. They make a nice 6" one that would be ideal.

Think I may well have solved my problem. It seems the previous owner had tightened each bridge screw too much This left me with no room to turn them.

So all I have done is loosened each screw, so the springs are now fully extended. Then I adjusted each to set the intonation.

Hey presto, all seems well, only took me 3 hours!!!

Thanks for all your help ladies and gents, much appreciated, all seems good.

Now I just have to find a ruler which measures 64th's, and a truss rod adjuster to make sure my neck is perfect.

Anyone know where I can get one in the UK?

Look at on-line tool websites. You should be able to find what you need there.

Stew Mac sells a small metal measuring template gauge the size of a credit card, It's chock full of measurement conversion data, but most importantly it has a string height measurement tool scribed into the side. You rest in on the tops of several frets and look at it from the side and you can get an instant accurate measurement, You can measure any area of the fretboad.
Stew Mac sells them for around $18. I've had mine for a few years and it's one of the bettter tools they sell.
