Yeah, we were told we were gonna all die of bird flu a couple of years ago. Seems we're still alive though!

Hasn't the flu killed more people than all other diseases throughout history??? When you gotta go, you gotta go. Hmmm...wonder who I should leave my Rickenbacker bass to?
Because I told you before- oh, you can't do that.

Yeah, and bird flu was a real threat.

I never realized it until I was in a hospital in Singapore last year, sick as a dog (turned out to be massive food poisoning), and they quickly hustled me off to the "bird flu wing" of the hospital---no joke. There was a dedicated quarantine area of the hospital for suspected bird flu patients, and they deal with that stuff everyday. People got this terrified look on their faces, and grabbed the face masks.

.....but overall, yeah. It's a load of sensationalist rubbish. Every doomsday journalist out there is looking for another reason we should hide under a rock...

I guess I'll just stick to washing my hands a little more often. If I croak, I croak.

From Nostradamus sillyness to the Alar hoax to the ozone worryworts to all of Paul Ehrlich and Edgar Cayce's **** to the Bermuda Triangle stuff to the acid rain misinformation to moon walk doubters to UFOs/Roswell/Cropcircle whackyness to the Bigfoot/Chupacabra/Lochness Monster hoaxes to the Y2K scaremongers to 911 conspiracy nuts to the global cooling hype to the global warming scam ....... and the list goes on and on and on. Us humans just LOVE a good doomsday / conspiracy story to get our juices flowing.

Having said that, "2012" looks like a pretty good movie!
