Considering the mono set is basically all sold out except for the exhorbitant $300+ gougers, you'll probably be out of luck by X-mas time. Apparently, they will be making more than the originally-planned 10,000 sets, but how many more, I don't know. Amazon actually reduced my locked-in price to $229.49, as the price changed after I pre-ordered. Nice surprise.

The mono set sounds great. AndSgt. Pepper has some fairly significant differences from the stereo version many of us are familiar with. The way it was originally intended by the lads. Good stuff indeed.

I'd like to buy the whole set, but 250 clams is a lot to cough up.

I recieved my Mono set yesterday. I've only had time to listen to Sgt. Pepper on the way to/from work today. Very, very clean. You can really hear the compression, delay and other effects on the vocals (think Lucy in the Sky). That may sound odd but and it's hard for me to describe but you hear everything -nothing seems lost. Bass, guitars, drums...what they wanted in there can be heard. Of course, I am no longer listening to AM radio through a one-inch speaker tucked under my pillow!

This set includes the stereo mixes of "Help!" and "Rubber Soul." You also get the non-album singles and other assorted songs on two more CD's. Personally,I"ll probably just pick up "Abbey Road" and call it even unless I'm asked for holiday shopping hints!

I think I'll go "Meet the Beatles." :)

Hearing "I Am The Walrus" on the Love album gave me the jones to hear more crystal clear Beatles. On the 9th I bought Rubber Soul and the White Album. Absolutely stunning.

I'll defend the right of anyone on this thread to remain a crusty old futz about it... ...but I am getting that electrifying jolt I felt when I first heard them. I'll be buying more. 8)

Unofficial grassroots marketing is so interesting. Based on the replies here, I've changed my vote from "fan/no plans" to "fan/maybe buy 1 or 2."

I will have to buy these on the installment plan. I have gotten Revolver and the White Album. "I'm Only Sleeping" sounds great, a real difference. Also "Dear Prudence" and "I Will" (you can really hear Paul doing the bass part with his voice on the latter) on the White Album sound especially good. And you can hear a lot more in "Revolution 9"... :D

And here we have someone who has listened to Revolution 9. Good splanky, mate!

Gonna go listen to that right now. Believe it or not, it is one of my favorite Beatles tracks.

Please let me know if there is anything on the new release that I haven't been listening to for the last 40+ years.

For the first time, I heard piano doubling the horns on the intro to the stereo All You Need Is Love. Even on the mono remaster, the piano is buried.

Let me ask you fans with the mono set this:
Is the stereo mix of "Rubber Soul" in the mono set more along the lines of what Capitol released in the US in '65, or more like the new reissue stereo mix?
