Jazzmaster Bridge solution?

I know many put buzzstops and Mustang bridges on their Jazzmasters but I gave this bridge a try. It wasn't expensive.The posts themselves don't fit firmly into the holes, and the metal thimbles had to be removed to make it fit. When in tune though, the bridge doesn't move at all. I'll know if it's a blessing or a curse after the weekend when my son plays the heck out of it.

I'm amazed that the posts and string centers are the same dimensions!

Anyway, a stock Jazzmaster/Jaguar bridge can be fixed in about 5 minutes or less, so the strings will never slip again. Just takes a smallish triangular file and a magic marker to mark the string locations on the threaded sections...

Or use a Mustang Bridge!

I started to do that Paul but, was a little nervous that besides deepening the correct groove, I was also flattening the others. If my son doesn't like the bridge(the saddles definitely sit higher), I may work on that again.

Nah, doesn't work for me. The E strings still slip out really easily.

The Buzz Stop worked for me, but I was never happy with the guitar, so I sold it back to its previous owner, who was happy to get it back in its improved condition.

My Bigsby Tele has single slot the Mustang bridge saddles, which work quite nicely. The bridge plate for Bigsby Telecasters is set up for the JM/Mustang bridge.

Good luck with that bridge Mark; it looks like it's a well-engineered piece that will work nicely with the Jazzmaster.

+1 on the BuzzStop. No mods, and makes the most sense.

I do a lot of behind the bridge picking and the Buzzstop is going to basically kill those notes. Not really an option here.

It's official. My kid loves the Mosrite style bridge. Just keep in mind that the action especially near the pickups is higher. It does eliminate buzzing, and saddle rattling. While he likes it, I do not recommend for all.

You can correct the action situation by slightly shimming the neck pocket at the body end.
