Re: Rick acoustics?
Paul, let me clarify my earlier statements and say that RIC factory production of acoustic guitars ended circa 2005.
Re: Rick acoustics?
I have one of the lucky last, an '05 730L/12 FG and I love it. The action is lower than many of my electrics!!!

Re: Rick acoustics?
Based on comments that were made in error, earlier in this thread, I made edits so that further misunderstandings did not continue. I believe that the information is now factually correct.
I then moved this thread to Reflections of A Curmudgeon from the Grove Yard where it was misplaced from the beginning.
I felt it was most appropriate for this forum as new acoustics are being built by Paul and he is currently in the best position to answer questions about the specifications of Rickenbackers that he builds.
To those who I have offended by moving and editing this post, I apologize.

Re: Rick acoustics?
Peter, what comments were made in error? If there are common misconceptions floating around, let's squash them here and now for everyone's benefit, since a large part of this forum's function is education.

Re: Rick acoustics?
No "common misperceptions", Jason. Actually a misstatement that "Rickenbacker acoustics have been out of production since roughly 2005". There are a number of Forumites who can attest to this not being the case, and a number of others who patiently await their instruments' turn in the spray booth.jdogric12aolcom wrote:Peter, what comments were made in error? I agree, Jason. Hopefully we are here to learn and educate. I hope that this has cleared the air in this matter.

The cedar top is a nice touch.
Hopefully the headstock will be better than my hasty PhotoShop™ job.

Re: Rick acoustics?
I was going to mention that, as the headstock on the Rick classical is the most elegantly contemporary interpretation of the classical's slotted headstock that I've seen.kennyhowes wrote:You tell me!jingle_jangle wrote:Is THAT what it's going to look like?kennyhowes wrote:![]()

I do remember your mentioning that you'd prefer a cedar top, and so it shall be.
Re: Rick acoustics?
When I saw this I started laughing...I am waiting patiently but, I got this picture in my head of an unfinished acoustic with it's arms crossed, tapping its foot...just waiting for it's turn in the booth...jingle_jangle wrote: a number of others who patiently await their instruments' turn in the spray booth.
