Just got a 60's (66 I think) Hohner fretless, looks kind of like an EB-2, that style, semi hollow with F holes. Was made by the Bartell company who had something to do with Mosrite, it has the same configuration as a Ric bass, two volumes and two tones, also has the exact same Switchcraft three way switch in it. It was a basket case when I bought it, I've got it put together now with one pickup working. Needs a lot of work. Is cool looking, it's all black, even the fingerboard. Some one used roundwounds on it so I had to smooth out the fingerboard which took the shine off of it, but it's not finished yet.

Bartell was co-owned by Paul Barth (of early Rickenbacker fame). I don't think there was a relationship with Mosrite other than the Rossmeisl influence on both brands, and Semie Moseley of course worked for Rickenbacker for a time.

They did build some models for some other brands.

I thought there was a connection to Ric also, but couldn't remember it, it's actually similiar to a Ric in a lot of ways.

Has anyone played one of these Infeld basses? They look very cool, but I cannot find any reviews on the instrument. The price tag ($3k) makes it a little unaffordable, but just checking to see if anyone has tried it out.

Scott, now that's something you don't see very often, quality and Peavey in the same sentence, haha!

No seriously I've seen a lot of their stuff last a LONG time, like PA heads and amps. I've heard some good sounding 70's Peavey basses too.
I've never liked their bass heads though, or at least their SS ones, I've never tried their tube bass head.

Down to only one Rick (sold my '77 4001 WAL)
:-(
2003 4003VP Montezuma Brown which I adore and play almost every day and what used to be my "main" bass a '74 Guild M-85 II. That is a great little bass. Love the short scale and skinny neck, perfect fit for me.
I do have 9 other guitars though (3 Rics), funny that I'm now mainly a bass player.
