'72 (LB) with a RI horseshoe. The original rear pickup is in another bass but the original magnet for it has de-gaussed. Notice the flat Grovers.

Nice and in excellent condition! Looks like it was hardly played.

Actually it was played quite a bit. It just doesn't show in the pics. It has a bit of rash on the front and back but not too bad for its age. My friend was pretty much done touring by then but still played in a number of bands.

Yeah, would have to be REALLY early '72 to not have the shedua stripe and have the walnut head wings. Can you give is a date to add to the knowledge database?

that one still has the tapered timber center section before RIC went into parallel laminations late '72/'73 thus the smaller head wing laminates. the headstock shape looks more like a '70 ish. seems like RIC couldn't perfect the smaller headstock shape until about '75.
