Ah....now I see what the strap buttons were for! :)

Very cool story, Tony. That's what I love about these old guitars---the really good ones always have some history behind them, and it really makes you feel like you're the "holder" of the moment in that instrument's history.

Glad it's in good hands. :)

Tony, amazing instrument and with a story one couldn't write. I like the way the original center of the FG burst shows where it was covered by the pickguards all these years. A slight reddishness to the maple there. Great find!

i went to the register and found 26 1999/4001 basses for 1964.
