John, we've got a great tobacconist in our town--Telford's. The guy who runs it really knows his smokes.johnallg wrote:You need to buy them right. Paul, Dalia has great taste in tobacco. I've tried 4 different blends of his and not a clinker yet. Cao Anniversaries have taken a back seat, as have Indian Tabac Camaroons, both still fine smokes.
I'd venture a guess that she's a certain minority.jingle_jangle wrote:
Do I have the only wife here on the RRF who enjoys a good cigar now and then?
I've become a seasonal pipe smoker. In the winter I quit. When it warms up enough to spend a pleasant Sunday afternoon or an evening in the middle of the week on the front porch, I'll take my pipe, a good book, or my i-pod and spend some pleasant time by myself.jingle_jangle wrote: About three years ago, after about 40 years' indulgence, I stopped smoking a pipe. I also have cut back on cigars about 90%--I might have one every week or two. It's for both money and practical reasons. Whereas, to me, a good cigar has a great scent when it's being smoked (and I do realize that opinions differ on this!), stale tobacco is a smell I don't want in our house or family car. So now I appreciate my occasional cigars that much more.
Yeah, right!wayang wrote:Churchill...cigars...it all makes perfectly logical sense to me...
Au contraire, mon fraire...my wife also enjoys an occasional cigar...but she is a drummer, after all.johnallg wrote:I'd say you probably do have the only wife who enjoys a fine cigar.
