I'm not thrilled with some of the choices made to induct certain artists or keep certain ones out of the R&R HOF either, but take it easy, guys!
JETGLO should officially be renamed JETGLO ROCKS! :-)

Look, Abba's in the RnRHoF, Captain Beefheart's not...is anyone really surprised by this? 'Halls Of Fame' are just another stupid (but wildly successful) idea for separating working folks from their hard-earned dollars, for capitalizing on their dreams. Take the kids to the Smithsonian, the Museum of Natural History in New York, or any National Park, and forget about worshipping the Music Industry, or the Sports Industry, or the Movie Industry, or whatever...it's all a big load of nonsense.

Why would I never consider visiting Graceland? I'll tell ya why: it's because until they finally put a big spotlight on that toilet seat and have every guided tour culiminate in an awe-filled pilgrimage to it, they're not even attempting to tell the Elvis Presley Story.

The RnRHoF telling 'the Story of Rock-n-Roll'? Don't hold your breath...

(Whoa...that's the first 'emoticon' I've ever stooped to using. Sorry, I couldn't help it in this case...it won't happen again.)
I didn't get where I am today by being on time...

+1 Alex Lifeson best guitar player 1974.....N.P. the worlds greatest Drummer IMHO......Geddy Lee has inspired so many bass players its not funny... I know Im one of them.....So untell the BOYS are inducted NO me.......John

It's about business, not R&R.

There are things I like about Rutherford's bass, but there are things I definitely don't. The short upper cutaway would really give this thing neck dive. Dick Knight should have used the upper bout from the 4001. The full controls for the guitar make the body too wide to hold comfortably for those of us not 6'4". I love the concept, but there are several ways I would improve upon it for sure. The pickguard on the one in that picture looks awful and very amateurish. Then again, some people keep repeating that hideous MMT paint job on Paul's bass.

dane...is it the controls of the DN pictured or the controls of the previous version from lamb tour you don't like ? this one, i think, is hideous. i prefer the lamb version...it has class and also looks like a rickenbacker. i also prefer the bass on the lower and guitar on top.

I much prefer the previous version, but both are just to wide to be practical for average sized people. I would use the factory layout with stacked knobs if I wanted to have the same control functions and split the upper and lower necks with ROS instead of the way the factory did it.

aceonbass wrote:It just blows my mind that the oldest prog rock band that started out with the most obscure sounding music got in before all of the other ones...excluding Pink Floyd of course. This just proves the people who vote on this stuff are a bunch of elitist snobs. It's okay if a prog rock band's music gets watered down till it's something more palatable for the masses, but not okay if it remains true to it's roots. The R&R HOF is really just a bunch of failed musicians anyway voting on people who's stuff they think they could probably play if they had to. Don't even get me started on that pompous Joey Ramone looking wannabe from Rolling Stone Magazine who seems to turn up on all those Behind the Music shows as the self proclaimed expert on all things rock&roll. Okay, rant over.....
Dane, I know it's off topic, and I'm guilty as charged of thread drift violations ---- but a big thumbs up to your great rant there !

Looks like Dave Pasco is the one who had that Rutherford doubleneck made last year that we all saw the build-up link to....except this seems to have FWI's and the headstock looks like a pre-97 4000 series bass. Hmmmm....
