Obviously I am kidding ;)
Assembling such a CD is hard, even if all submitted songs are great - you need to organize and balance them correctly, this means that if there is an influx of a specific type - some songs will not get through even if they are really good.
So long and thanks for all the fish!

Yeah, that's what makes the whole process so suspenseful, especially for those who submitted for the first time.

I can't wait to hear the new CD.... The first two RRF CD's are still making the rounds regularly through my CD player, and through my iPod as MP3's!

Do I hear "2 Disc Set"? :D It could be called RRF CD3 and a half!
Expect nothing and you'll never be disappointed (and I mean that in an optimistic way).

Would a DVD be too hard to put together? It would have to be region free to play anywhere.

Hey guys -

Just getting caught up on the past two pages. Lots of great ideas - radio play, band interviews, DVDs... I thought a "making of" documentary style vid would be really interesting - each band film their own recording session or whatever, compile that onto a 'Making Of RRF CD3' story...

AGAIN - I'm not getting updated on these posts via my email, so I've been completely in the dark on the enthusiasm and bold threats (Thanks Gil!) being displayed. (Before deleting me completely, Gil, maybe a little help with that? Maybe it's some kind of technical glitch as have popped up in the past.)

Before getting to the meat of this post, I want to thank Peter for making this 3rd compilation happen. He's taken on a lot of active responsibilities and contributed some helpful ideas this time around in the selection and decision process, which have helped me quite a bit. We decided, based on the great input of all who submitted, that the initial product will again be a CD, which establishes a good formal time parameter, and helps to make the album a "best of" representation of the RRF talent base, as opposed to an "all of" collection. We also decided to instigate a one-song per artist policy this time around, to try and stride the balance of collecting the best songs that the RRF has to offer and getting as many folks on as we could.

All that being said, a LOT of great songs were cut. Matter of fact, some of my personal faves were deposed to the proverbial cutting room floor. There were at least twice the amount of submissions that were able to fit on one CD - the highest amount of submissions so far for any of the 3 RRF CD projects.

So without further adieu, here's the song list in tentative order:

1. Chip Ficyk - Lie
2. Mark Kaufman - Mr. Blue
3. Brian Morton - The Shannon & Chesapeake
4. Ghost Hookers - 3 Suicides
5. Gil Disatnik - Mad At You
6. Jeff Scott - March To Orion
7. It Rhymes With Orange - Heavy Rain
8. Ron O'Keefe - Horizon Line
9. Eden MacKenzie - Gealach Solas
10. Anthony Carey - Joe Black
11. Chris Good - If I Could Be
12. Mixed By Moe - Xiao Gou Gou
13. Quantum Kids - Frunkenbilly
14. Jeff Desgres - 7 Monster Surf Boogie
15. Keith Smart - Someday One Day
16. Jim Krause - This Old Coat
17. Gee Baldwin - Naperville Rain
18. Hieronymous - Willowmass
19. Rob Jones - Ships
20. Walker - After The War

So there it is. Thanks again to all who put effort into contributing their music! And on that note, I'll be hiding under my bed for a few days.

That should read Rikk Desgres!!!!!!!!! Better yet Donut Kings! And there is no "7" at the beginning. That must have been the track bumber.

Ouch! Sorry Rikk! Not sure how the 'Jeff' thing happened. My quick list notes are probably messed up. I used the forum member names for most of that list - the actual band names will appear on the CD. There will also be a final liner-notes preview for all who submitted to go over the info and make sure everything is kosher.

Luckily, for the RRF members, I am without words.......very, very honored to have been selected. I hope my tune lives up to the great company that surrounds it......thanks Mark, and all involved! :D
