I just picked up a 1988 610 as a restoration project. It's finished in Primerglo and missing some hardware, so I need a little help on this one:
- What colors were available in 1988?
- Trapeze or R tailpiece?
- Hi-gain pickups?
- Nameplate: raised or printed?
- How rare/common are 1988 610's?
- Value of a complete, original model in good shape?

Thanks for the info. Glad to hear it's not rare; I'll have no qualms about having my way with it.
I can't figure out if it was originally red or Jetglo. It's got traces of both colors of paint in the usual cavities and the grain, but I'm leaning towards red. It's also got graffiti on the bare wood that was added after a previous finish was stripped. Of course, the case did have NoFX and Dwarves stickers on it.
BTW, was there a BT option in 1988?

Not that anyone cares, but I found this interesting: the graffiti to which I referred actually said "Bad Top!". There was a divot between the pickups that was marked with something that looked like "NY". I don't know if that's from the factory or not.
There's another weird thing about the body: the hole for the ground wire from the bridge plate to the control cavity is blocked by a piece of metal. A second hole was drilled from under the bridge plate to the bridge pickup cavity. I'm guessing the ground wire was routed through there.
The original finish was Jetglo. The traces of red (and green, and yellow, and blue, and orange) paint are apparently the remnants of an abortive attempt to duplicate the finish on Clapton's SG. The things people do.
