Back in 2005-6 I had a very cool correspondence with a Seattle guitar builder who worked at Rickenbacker in the early 70's.johnnysain wrote:My '75 (August).......

I always noticed my Fireglow had deeper color than every other era.
These conversations centered around my '74 Walnut, it's finish and reverse tuners.
He said the guy doing the finish work back then was actually a bit color blind. This was his explanation for the richness and variety of Finish colors from that time frame.
I love the colors on those Ricks, of which my '72 Fireglo 4001 is one!
