James - do tell. Bound headstock, bound neck, fretted w/ dot inlays?

Special order? Mid-60s?
Can we have everything louder than everything else?

Um, yeah... and that super wide "skunk stripe", just what are we lookin' at there, a 4005?
I have NO idea what to do with those skinny stringed things... I'm just a bass player...

Flat Grovers and a late 70s TRC, and a bound headstock.

That's a new one...

Hmm, now that you mention it, it does. Extra wide stripe, some sort of non-RIC bridge/tailpiece...

So, what's the story on it?

I believe James has said it's something that got out of the RIC factory before completion, maybe because it was stolen (I think John Hall was his source on that). It has a different treble pickup than normal besides the Hipshot A Style bridge. I don't know. Looks pretty cool to me.

One thing I gleaned from the soft-spoken Mr. Groves - the picture file is titled '72-HS'
